NET INCOME AND PRODUCTION COST OF A RUBBER TREE PLANTATION IN THE STATE OF SÃO PAULO ABSTRACT: This issue shows all the input requirements for a standard rubber tree plantation in the State of São Paulo, considering the yield rubber tree stage and the period of implantation of the crop. It was also estimated the cost of those activities as well as it net income and the profitability of the investment in a new crop. The agricultural production costs are presented for the four most important systems of rubber tree tapping among those, which have been used by the producers. For the six first years of the implantation period it was estimated the total cost of R$4,677.71. For a yield rubber tree crop (between the 10th and the 30th year after planting), using the S/2 and D/3 tapping system, labour participates with 47,3% of the production cost. The net income and the internal return rate for the tapping systems analysed point out that it is determinant to reach a good tapping management to reduce the production cost per unit and improve the profitability of rubber tree crop.
