RESUMO: O estudo contempla a identificação de problemas e soluções dos sistemas produtivos familiares e regionais do sudoeste do Estado de São Paulo, como estratégia de estímulo ao desenvolvimento sustentado. Visa subsidiar projetos voltados à agricultura de base familiar que possibilitem gerar emprego, renda, melhoria de vida e novas oportunidades na economia de mercado, consolidando seu papel no cenário regional e estadual. Utiliza como metodologia de trabalho o processo participativo com a comunidade, de modo a facilitar as decisões e propostas de ação de ordem pública e privada. O diagnóstico rural é elaborado junto com agricultores familiares e lideranças locais, utilizando-se de técnicas combinadas de Brain storm e Zoop. Como resultado são enumerados os principais problemas e as possíveis respostas que possam se transformar em soluções concretas para essa categoria de produtores.

EMPLOYMENT AND INCOME:the participatory process as a tool of regional development

ABSTRACT: The study contemplates the identification of problems and solutions in the regional and family farming systems in Southwestern São Paulo state as a strategy to foster sustainable development. It seeks to subsidize family-based agricultural projects that can facilitate the generation of employment, income, life improvement and new opportunities in the market economy, thus consolidating its role in the regional and state scene. The work methodology used was the participatory process with the community, in order to facilitate the decisions and proposals for action in the public and private sphere. The rural diagnosis is elaborated with the family farmers and the local leaderships by means of combined techniques of Brain storm and Zoop .Thus the current critical factors of the productive systems of family base and the important demands were identified. As result, the principal problems and a few suggestions that can become concrete solutions for that category of producers are enumerated
